Ah, politics in a Horrorwalker world... even monsters can become entwined in the vines of hatred and mistrust between the human races. But, the horror must go on...
I have followed the Horrorwalker trail to three recently exposed, very profound horror tales settled in three different states.
1) OFF THE OCEAN -- The Horrorwalker tale of two brothers with higher level biology backgrounds, in love with their favorite vocation, Caving! One December morning, they decide to explore an area North Carolina coastal cave… one they have explored before… going deeper inside than they have ever dared before. Inside the cramped damp darkness, they discover something large, quite alive and in a cocoon-like hibernation state!
And they decide to take it to the surface. What good can come from that?
This Horrorwalker tale of brotherly love, and the way they deal with (?), is bloodless and the language is kept to the maturity level of the teen to adult reader.
2) -- IN THE COMPANY OF DOGS -- This is the morose Horrorwalker tale of 200 year old vampire who has lived a long tough life of fighting “life” to survive the night, to avoid the burning extinction that is daylight, to continue his serial killer ways for finding fresh victims to feed his ever gnawing hunger for human blood and his ever-present battle with depression as he continually laments his inability to spend time with the only thing he has ever loved -- DOGS!
But that is not possible… because all dogs HATE vampires!
3) -- TEARING DOWN THE HOUSE OF BURGESSES -- In this Horrorwalker tale, the blurring of reality and horror really sucks!
In the year 2013 the Supreme Court of the United States of America shot a proverbial bullet into the heart of the Voting Rights Act, thus setting in motion the destruction of the civil rights of African-Americans across America. One month later, a particular controversial murder trial in the state of Florida, in which an all white jury acquitted the blatant murderer of an unarmed black teenager, affirmed the “God given right for the white man to kill the Niggers!”
In 2016, the new President, after the black one, was a Republican Texas governor who declared, with full support of the Republican house and the Republican senate, that the American black experiment was over… and now, in 2018, the time for the original America to return was now!
These acts began the decades long push of the American majority to segregate, cull the black population with murder and disappearances… to eventually round up the remaining population of African-Americans and move them down into the deep southern states the government annexed and commissioned to be The NZ -- The Negro Zones, on the other side of The New Mason Dixon Trench!
The remaining black population, and all the white sympathizers, were bar-coded and implanted with microchips for tracking. Crossing back into the White Zones, the WZ, is punishable by execution on the spot.
The Neo White House was renamed The house of Burgesses and the entire government was moved from DC, in a monstrous feat of insanity, to Richmond, Virginia.
And now, today in the year 2343, the government drones fly over The NZ every day as big brother watches over the denizens to keep them in suppressed check. The day of the next population culling process in the Louisiana NZ is approaching in a year and the hero of this story decides to take a small band of rebels into the frightening WZ to brave the potential of violent death, or worse, to infiltrate The House of Burgesses for answers to what happens to the culled African-American living, and the culled black dead, when they are taken by the government. The frightening answers they discover are taken back to The NZ by the survivors of the raid.
And a new day in the always changing evolution of America dawns.
This is a controversial alternative universe story. If you cannot digest a science-fiction/horror tale about the near genocide of the American black population by the crazed with power racist white majority… them with the full powers of the law, science and the military behind them, then this tale is not for you. This story is raw, nasty and the same words that assisted in the murder of millions of American black human beings are used in this tale. So…
